6 Months Old!

Sweet Baby Boy,
Our little Parker.
You are six months old today!
(Silly boy. Wearing pants on your head--okay, really it was silly Mommy who was in a goofy mood)
We can hardly believe how time flies by. You really are seeming more and more like a little boy, and less and less like a baby. Here’s some of the things you are up to now:

Clothing: You still wear a 3-6 month size, but you’re starting to fill out some of your clothes, and I’m sure in a few weeks, we’ll have to move you to the next size up. Also, you are starting to seem a bit snug in your size 2 diaper, so I’m sure we’ll have to upgrade to the next size soon.

Food! You are eating “solid” foods 3-4 times a day, and boy do you LOVE to eat! So far, you’ve had baby rice cereal, oatmeal, squash, carrots, peas, green beans and bananas. Green beans seem to be your least favorite, but you like everything else. You are a GREAT eater! You mastered the spoon in just a few short days.

Bath Time! You really like bath time now. You just sit in the water, calm and relaxed. It’s become a calming time for all of us.

Your first tooth is coming through! It’s been hard to capture it on film, since your tongue and drool are so often in the way when I try to take a picture.

Your hair is getting long—a few inches on top. It’s enough to give you adorable bed head!

You are starting to “self soothe” and get yourself to sleep (sometimes after crying a bit). Your favorite sleep position is on your side (though sometimes you give in, and fall asleep on your belly too).

Happy Feet! When you are in a good mood, your feet are movin! You have what call a “super kick” and it’s the cutest thing, though it makes diaper changes a bit more challenging. Also, you play with your feet all the time, by grabbing your toes and pulling your feet toward your mouth—you haven’t reached it yet, but it’s only a matter of time.

Tummy time is less annoying for you. Sometimes you’ll stay on your tummy for 20 minutes at a time, without any fuss. A few times you’ve pushed yourself up on your arms all the way, but no crawling yet.

You still LOVE your little Sophie toy! You are able to hold it by yourself and just gnaw away...

It has been so fun to watch you grow this past month. You are a pretty happy little guy, except when you’re teething. Poor thing :o( You are more alert to your surroundings, you notice more, and you want to grab everything and put it in your mouth! You are making new sounds and smiling more and more each day. We love you, little Bubba. You are our greatest joy and blessing.
We love you so much,
Mommy & Daddy
