7 Months Old

Joey Bug!

Seven months has snuck up on us for sure! 6 months was the big milestone, and it was almost as if we were watching the calendar, waiting for that to happen. But then seven months just came when we weren't looking.

Here's what you've been up to this month:

** Your Jumperoo **

You've liked your jumperoo for a month or two, but this month you've learned how to really jump. You will jump, jump, jump for a long time--easily 30-40 minutes when we let you. It's pretty adorable.

** Holding your own bottle **

You hold the bottle by yourself like a pro! This makes bottle feedings a bit easier for Mommy and Daddy :)

Speaking of food, you continue to enjoy eating your baby food. So far, you've had butternut squash, sweet potatoes, and pears. Soon you'll try bananas!

** Sitting up all by yourself! **

(By the way, you are still sleeping in the mini pack-n-play in Mommy and Daddy's room, but you love to play in your big brother's crib... which will soon be your crib!)

It seriously seemed like one day you were toppling over and the next day you were sitting up on your own for 10-15 minutes at a time. You enjoy sitting up to play with your toys.

We love you SO, so much, little bug. You are so joyful and smiley and you bring us so much happiness every day. We are so thankful for you and we enjoy watching you grow and learn new things each day.

Happy 6 Months, Joey!

Some stats:

You are in size three diapers, and all your clothes are 6-9 months (though you’ve been that size for a month now). You haven’t had a doctor’s appointment in awhile, so we’re not sure about your weight, though I’d guess about 18 pounds—you’re so big!

What you’ve been up to this month:

You cut your first tooth, and the second one will be here in a few days.

You’ve been a little bit fussy, but overall you’ve been in really good spirits considering you’re teething.

You like your jumperoo more and more.

You love baby Einstein, and would probably watch it all day if we let you. You and Parker hang out a little bit more now. Sometimes he'll lay down next to you or talk to you for a bit. You guys are going to be such great buddies and we can't wait to watch you grow up together.

You self-weaned about a week ago, so you only take formula now. You have rice cereal 1-2 times a day, and pretty soon (maybe tomorrow!) we’re going to let you try you’re first baby food. Probably butternut squash.

You are such a happy little man, with a big curiosity. You love to look at everything and you like to reach out and touch anything you can get your cute, chubby hands on.

Your favorite thing to say is "gah gah gah."

You had your first Halloween/ Harvest Festival this month. You were a banana and Parker was a monkey. It was the cutest ever. :)
