(It's a few days old because we were on vactation and just got home late last night)
Bubba,
You are seven months old. You grow so much each month, but this month you are really becoming more independent. It seems like you are becoming more and more a little boy, and less and less a little baby. This makes Mommy and Daddy so excited and proud, but a little sad at the same time. We realize as amazing as it is to see you grow and develop, we can never get back your sweet “baby” days, so we are cherishing each and every one!
You LOVE bath time! We still give you baths in the infant tub, at the sink. In your tub, you can sit up by yourself. You love grabbing the bubbles and other little bath toys. You are always calm and relaxed in the water, I’m sure you’re going to love the ‘big’ bath tub once you’re old enough for it!
We discovered that you love Glee’s Adele Mash-up. We play it over and over on the TV if you are fussy. It always calms you down and puts you in a happy trance.
You are a great sleeper now! When we put you down in the crib for a nap, you usually go to sleep right away. If not, you’ll only fuss a few minutes and then get yourself into a comfy position and then drift off to sleep.
You’ve been sleeping through the night a lot these past few weeks! YAY! Most nights, you’ll go to bed at 9:00 and wake up between 4:00-6:00 for your morning feeding. Then you’ll often go back to sleep for another hour or two. All this sleep makes you a well-rested and super happy baby in the morning! J
At your last doctor appointment, you weighed 15.5 pounds and have sprouted to 26 inches tall. You are in the 10th percentile for weight and the 50th percentile for height!
You are now in size three diapers. They are a bit big on you, but you definitely are too big for size 2’s. Also, you have moved up to size 6-9 month clothing.
You are a rolly polly. You roll and scoot and seem sooo eager to start crawling. We recently bought a big 8’x12’ floor rug, which gives you a lot of soft room to move around. You like to move around, trying to grab all your toys.
You can sit up by yourself for short periods of time, and with some support (like the Boppy Pillow) you can sit up for several minutes.
You are much more independent now. You occupy yourself in your car seat and can go most drives without any fuss. Also, you can do tummy time on the carpet for 20-30 minutes now without “asking” to be picked up.
You talk a lot now, making all kinds of sounds. We enjoy your “wah, wah, wah” sounds the best.
You can see those 2 bottom teeth clearly now! You seem to be extra drooly and teething a lot so we’re expecting the next teeth to make their appearance shortly.
Your feet have reached your mouth on several occasions! And you love pulling at your socks until you pull them completely off your feet.
You do have some stranger anxiety, but once you get used to someone then you are all smiles and play.
You LOVE to eat! You eat 3.5oz of solid food every 4 hours (in between milk feedings) and I think you’d eat 10 oz if we let you! You seem to like everything, fruits and veggies, except for green beans. You are not a fan of those. Oh, and you also are not a fan of the meat purees. You make a funny face every time we try to get you to eat some meat!
You had your first Christmas! We went down to Grammy and Papa’s house and you got to spend a lot of time with your Reyes-Culver family. You really had a great time having everyone hold you and play with you; you especially liked playing with Mia.
Later on today, you will be spending your time with Grandma and Grandpa Berndt for your second 1st Christmas (more pictures to follow, I'm sure!).
Parker, it’s been such a fun month watching you grow and become more independent. You are such a happy and energetic little man and we are so blessed to have you in our lives!
We love you, baby boy!
Mommy & Daddy
